And now for something completely different. I went to see HEALTH last Tuesday which probably will have been the final gig of this year. For those that don’t know HEALTH: this is exactly the polar opposite of yesterday’s Jam of Today. I like to describe the LA trio’s music as ethereal industrial, which is quite the contradiction in itself. The dreamy vocals of singer/guitarist Jake Duzsik, matched with the utter raw electro-industrial music makes for a highly unique mix. One of my favourite songs off of Tuesday’s setlist was ‘DSM-V’, featured on HEALTH’s 6th album ‘Rat Wars’ (released Dec. 7). Artfully crafted noise rock in its finest.
