#2090: Frost Children – Stare At The Sun

This one’s a bit difficult, since Frost Children’s ‘Stare At The Sun’ is a lot different than what the hyperpop duo usually makes. They have released several great hyperpop tracks in the past, releasing an album full of that stuff called ‘SPEED RUN‘ in April of this year. However, they also released an indie album this year! ‘Hearth Room‘ got released in November of this year and was sort of released as a double album with ‘SPEED RUN’ (or at least, they have a double album bundle for sale). ‘SPEED RUN’ is full of great electronic tracks to my liking such as ‘FLATLINE’, ‘ALL I GOT’, and ‘HI 5’, but ‘Stare At The Sun’ was my first introduction to the New York-based duo consisting of siblings Lulu and Angel Prost. ‘Hearth Room’ is full of low-key, kindhearted indie, electro, and a bit of emo, which gives Frost Children the opportunity to show off a whole different set of songwriting skills. They succeed in doing so, given that this album is just as captivating as its predecessor.
