I saw Australian band Girl and Girl play London Calling this year and truth be told: I wasn’t sold. I thought their music all sounded the same, I didn’t think it was really inventive. They simply couldn’t interest me. However (awkwardly similar to my experience with Hak Baker) a few weeks later, I stumbled upon ‘All I See’ and yes, you’ve guessed it: I liked it. It’s the same old story again where I’m not impressed at first but then fall in love at the second listen. I guess I will try and catch another performance by Girl and Girl in 2024.
