As you may have figured out by now, my music taste is quite all over the place. It has evolved over the years and I’m definitely more picky when it comes down to what songs and artists I do and don’t like, but in general I will appreciate most genres. As long as there’s something to it that makes me go “Ha, yes. This is great.” Today’s Jam of Today is somewhat… unconventional. This year, I got introduced to an Australian artist called Kim Dracula. Kim Dracula has made a cover of Lady Gaga’s superhit ‘Paparazzi‘ in 2020 and has racked up the streams ever since. Songs like ‘Killdozer‘, ‘1-800-CLOSE-UR-EYES‘, and ‘Make Me Famous‘ made the Australian artist being able to establish this erratic, chaotic mixture of rock, metal, and hip-hop, all covered in a thick, greasy goth sauce. It’s truly an absolute wild rollercoaster, full of unpredictable twists and turns. And that’s what I love about it. ‘Death Before Designer’ has a featuring by SosMula on it, who we know from the equally as alternative hip-hop group City Morgue (with ZillaKami). Their song ‘33rd Blakk Glass‘ has made it into the playlist back in 2020 already. In my opinion, Kim Dracula could have not gotten a better featuring than SosMula. ‘Death Before Designer’ turns into this crazy playground of two of hip-hop’s most extreme creators of the moment and it is more than worthy to feature in the crazy cocktail that is the Jam of Today playlist.
