Inexcusably one of the most underrated emo classics of the 00s, in my opinion. Being released in the heydays of emo music – 2006 – Matchbook Romance had to compete with big names such as AFI, Senses Fail, and (you may have heard of this band called) My Chemical Romance, who all released classic albums during that year. ‘Monsters’ is really Matchbook Romance’s only hit and it sadly didn’t secure them a spot next to the other big emo boys.
