This week, you will read about my 5 favourite acts of Eurosonic 2024. In no particular order, I will guide you through what were the most memorable artists I captured during this year’s edition of the infamous showcase festival.
Starting off with an artist I already knew was going to be absolutely brilliant. I have now seen Lynks perform three times, all three times at a place you wouldn’t necessarily expect Lynks to perform. Firstly during the 2022 edition of the The Hague goth/punk festival Grauzone, secondly during the 2023 edition of alt. rock/metal festival 2000trees, and in 2024 during what will unanimously be considered the stiffest, most ungiving festival of the year: Eurosonic, where every single music industry c*nt spews their self-importance and unwanted presence over the dance floor.
If there’s one artist that knows how to change the mood, it’s Lynks. I was mega impressed how Lynks managed to turn this party around within a matter of seconds, and even made the most miserable white men dance along to the queerest music they will probably ever hear. Big up to Lynks. Whether you are an overpaid CEO of some pathetic agency or an undervalued Music Curator of a big streaming service, no one is safe for the phenomenal and hilarious performance of this artist. I had a fabulous time, yet again.
