I already had a hunch that seeing Melin Melyn live would be a lot of fun and I was right. Since I couldn’t catch their main set – they played at the same time as Chalk – I had to squeeze myself in the ever packed Plato record store early Thursday afternoon to catch a glimpse of the Welshmen. Even though Melin Melyn only played four songs, it was more than enough for me to instantly fall in love with this band. The witty Welsh/English lyrics combined with their modern jangle pop is a recipe for success and the joyful energy and happiness that this band brings onto the stage is as infectious as it is entertaining. Lucky for me, Melin Melyn would move on to play one more set on Friday afternoon, in which I managed to catch recent Jam of Today ‘I Paint Dogs‘ live! However, two times Melin Melyn in two days is still not enough for me! I want more! Hopefully catching these guys live again soon.
