#2153: Twenty One Pilots – Ride

Those that know me, know that I have been quite a big Twenty One Pilots fan for well over 12 years now. The American duo is very well represented in the playlist and their untitled debut from 2009 (with drummer Josh Dun not part of the group yet) still counts as one of my favourite albums of all time. Their popularity skyrocketed in 2015, with the release of their mega popular 3rd album ‘Blurryface’. Songs such as ‘Stressed Out’ and ‘Ride’ racked up the streams. Within a few months, Twenty One Pilots saw themselves being the most popular pop rock act out there. Several years and albums later, they still uphold the status as one of the biggest mainstream rock acts out there, with many massive hits attracting a gigantic dedicated fanbase.

Just recently, the duo started teasing their upcoming album. In true ‘tøp‘ fashion, this goes in mysterious ways with what looks like some kind of scavenger hunt for only a limited amount of fans, random billboards scattered all across the world, and an updated album cover for some of their previous releases. British rock magazine Kerrang! took a dive into the Twenty One Pilots lore and made me even more excited for what’s to come from the duo.
