We’ve had our first Indonesian act (Grrl Gang, April 2023), our first Singaporean act (Subsonic Eye, February 2024), and here’s our first Malaysian act! Much like the before-mentioned acts from Southeast Asia, AVA makes subtle, whimsical dream pop. ‘Ribs’ might not sound as refined as ‘Honey, Baby’ and ‘Come Around’, but that makes sense: this is only the first ever release by the young Malaysian 4-piece. Plenty of stuff to work on, but being signed on Sony already, a bright future might just be ahead for AVA.
