The Irish music scene is thriving. We have seen the likes of many punk bands hailing from the Emerald Isle, while we now get treated to some progressive folk artists in the form of Lankum, ØXN, and John Francis Flynn, all releasing memorable albums in 2023. This doom folk sound is not the most approachable and definitely isn’t for everyone. ‘Look Over the Wall, See the Sky’ is certainly an album I would recommend if you are into that but if that’s not the case, there’s ‘Mole in the Ground’ as the most welcoming song on this John Francis Flynn release.
