#2300: Spanish Love Songs – Clean-Up Crew

It’s been a week since I had an absolute blast at this year’s edition of 2000trees. Much like every year, the music festival in Cheltenham area has provided me with lots of fun as well as tons of newly discovered bands to listen to. The coming days, I will highlight a few of my favourite acts of last week, starting off with Thursday’s #1 act.

To be brutally honest, Thursday actually wasn’t all too great for me and my partner. For some reason, we just couldn’t get into the festival spirits. It didn’t help that it took us about 1,5 hour to drive out of London which sucked a lot of energy out of us. Either way, we wanted to make the most of our first day at 2000trees 2024 though barely a single act on today’s line-up really got us on our feet. Luckily, there was one act you can always rely upon making our day, even though their lyrics are anything but uplifting. For the third time this year, Spanish Love Songs came to the rescue and especially on this day where both spirits and energy are unfortunately low, bangers like ‘Buffalo Buffalo’, ‘Kick’, and ‘Losers’ put a smile on our faces and even made us do a little dance.

In chronological order, all acts I’ve seen live on the Thursday of 2000trees 2024:
– Static Dress
– Grove Street
– Spanish Love Songs
– Boston Manor
– Manchester Orchestra
– Hot Mulligan
