Something weird happened the other day. During one of my recurring sleepless nights, it struck me. Out of the blue, unannounced. There it was. The realization: ‘Fireflies’ by Owl City is a good song. This song got released in 2009 and ever since the first time I heard it, I have despised it. Never liked it, not one bit. Until that one night last week, at about 2:30 in the morning. Maybe it was a classic ‘right place, right time’ moment, given that this song is about insomnia anyways. I don’t know. It just creeped into my head, I put my headphones on and there I was voluntarily listening to Owl City’s megahit for the first time in my life. Dare I say I like the song? Well, clearly I let my mind speak for itself during that random night in July. I suppose I do like this song now.
