The infamous Dutch anarchists have returned with a surprisingly solid and complete song. For those that don’t know, Hang Youth is known for their no-nonsense punk. Their average song lengths vary somewhere between around 10 seconds and 1 minute. ‘BOM’, hailing off of their forthcoming album ‘ER IS HOOP*’, makes for a very solid anthem, strongly criticising basically everything that’s f*cked right now by talking about how to make a bomb. So, yeah. Just as no-nonsense as ever. But maybe better than ever, too. Co-written and -produced by another one of my Dutch favourites in Thomas Azier, ‘BOM’ even faintly reminds us of the Hang Youth members’ former band The Don’t Touch My Croque-Monsieurs.
