What a surprise this was. I don’t remember exactly how and why, but last week right before I went to bed I stumbled upon Manchester synth-pop band Hurts again. Man, did I forget about these guys! Listening to ‘Wonderful Life’ and ‘Better Than Love’ took me straight back in time to when I was about 14 years old, hearing these songs blasting through the speakers of my radio in my bedroom or playing them on my old iPod Classic. I love thinking back of the days where it was just me and my iPod against the world. Many songs make me reminisce about those days – not all of these songs being all too good. Ha! But this for sure is a quality release worthy of a spot in the Jam of Today playlist, if you ask me. Glad I rediscovered it.
