One thing I very quickly realised after picking up this hobby called ‘music‘ (in its most all-encompassing form possible) is that it’s realistically going to be quite difficult (some might say “near impossible!”) to know and collect each and every song and piece ever written. I’ve always had this fear of forgetting about songs that I enjoy due to not registering them anywhere, but I do very well know now that these songs will always come back to you at some point in your life. Take Nada Surf’s ‘Fruit Fly’, a song I didn’t hear in absolute donkey’s years until I just came across it in the most unexpected way possible, while listening to a mix of a song one of my mates sent me. It just shows that music will always find its way back to you. It might take years, decades even. But eventually, that one song you enjoyed a little bit in 2002 will suddenly appear on your radar once more. Isn’t music just wonderful?
