Today we celebrate the 2500th Jam! Or, well.. Those that have been following this blog for a while know that I don’t really care about milestones like these, let alone celebrate them. However, I do have a nice throwback to my previous blog ‘De Spotlight’ to highlight here today. The other day, I surprised myself by finding this seemingly unknown song called ‘Myths’ by a duo called Frank Gamble. My 7-year-old research tells me this London duo consists of singer Hannah Yadi and producer Justin Taylor (also known as Hoost) who much to my surprise managed to land themselves a record deal at PMR Records, one of the many subsidiaries of Universal Music, around 2016. 2017-single ‘Myths’ is one of the handful of releases done on this label but in line with all their other songs, didn’t really make it big. I’m assuming PMR Records had seen enough and dropped Frank Gamble quickly after, given the duo’s only full-length ‘Forgive & Forget’ (2018) is credited an indie release. Either way, today’s Jam takes me back to my early blogging days, where I was trying my hardest to constantly find the next big thing. I suppose Frank Gamble wasn’t one of ’em, but I’m glad ‘Myths’ has sneaked its way back into my listening habits once more.
