Alright, time to warm up for an exciting month coming up here on Jam of Today. Similar to the December special last year, during which I highlighted one of my favourite albums of 2024 each day of the month, I’m happy to introduce another month full of specials during June of 2025! Instead of focusing on my favourite albums of the year (we’ll be doing that in December again) I have found another exciting concept that will make for some riveting content.

You may be aware that I have a solid and ever-growing record collection. Some of my records I play quite frequently but some of my vinyl I haven’t touched in years. To rediscover the records in my collection I will be sharing some exciting stories on the blog this June. I have tied a randomiser to my collection which picks a record at random. I will play the entire album, highlight my favourite song off of it and share the stories and memories I have attached to that specific record here on this website. I’ve been preparing this month of specials throughout the first half of 2025 and I’m looking forward to sharing my stories with you!

So, basically, the randomiser could choose any of the records in my collection, such as this one by KNEECAP. ‘Better Way To Live’ is known to be featured on KNEECAP’s breakthrough album ‘Fine Art’ but also got released as a 7″ single which I received as a gift by my partner after attending the Independent Label Market last year. Seen as my birthday is around the ILM each year, she surprised me with this 7″ featuring Fontaines D.C. singer Grian Chatten. I don’t play many 7″ at home (I’m just a bit too lazy to walk up and down to my record player all the time) but it sure is nice to give some of them a spin every now and then.
