#2653: SOFT PLAY – Everything and Nothing

…and before you know it, it’s already the final day of the festival! While the Sunday of Rock im Park 2025 was another musical spectacle where I finally got to see Bring Me The Horizon live for the first time, one specific moment stood out for me and it certainly wasn’t what I expected it to be. SOFT PLAY played one of my favourite sets of the weekend which in itself is already quite surprising since I’ve seen them many times before. However, Royal Tunbridge Wells’s Isaac Holman and Laurie Vincent manage to prove themselves in such a unique way each time I catch them live. Whenever SOFT PLAY is on the bill of a festival they rarely turn out to be a first choice act that I want to go see. However, once I do, I find myself just having the best time over and over again. My favourite moment in their set was actually the heavily emotional tune ‘Everything and Nothing’, dedicated to Isaac’s best friend Bailey and Laurie’s wife Emma, both sadly passed away a few years ago. I found myself tearing up during this straightforward yet heart-wrenching ode to their deceased loved ones.

In chronological order, all acts I’ve seen live on the Sunday of Rock im Park 2025:
– Knocked Loose
– Weezer
– Poppy
– SOFT PLAY
– Biffy Clyro
– Bring Me The Horizon
– K.I.Z.
