It’s a wrap! 2000trees 2025 has officially come to an end. What a weekend it was. A sweltering melting pot of bands, beers, amazing food and equally as fantastic people. It truly was one of the Trees of all time for me personally. Big shout-out to everybody involved in making the festival happen, as well as all the people I’ve met and spoken to during the fest. It truly was amazing.

Additionally, I think this might be one of the most authentic 2000trees experiences I’ve ever had. For the first time, I’ve seen artists play at every single stage – from the main stage standing in the blazing sun to the scenic forest stage, and via the word stage with some of the countries best up and coming comedians to the acoustic sets strangers would perform on camp. Speaking of camp, it certainly was one camping experience I will never forget. Let’s just say the heatwave raging over the hills of the Cotswolds didn’t make for a very comfortable experience. I think I might check myself into a hotel again next year.

Anyway, we’re here to chat about music so let’s get right to it. I’ve seen a big bunch of acts during this edition and me and my mate both agreed we did surprisingly well given the heat. It helps the an average day at 2000trees starts pretty early in the morning and with most sets lasting no more than 30 minutes, you can squeeze as many gigs into one single festival day as you want. One, however, will always stand out. and for me personally, that highlight of day 1 has to be Battlesnake: a band that could only be described as the heavy metal answer to Thumpasaurus – the act that stole the show on the forest stage last year – dwelling in a theatrical fantasy world and welcoming us into an occult full of wizards, dragons, and more epic fantasy and sci-fi balderdash. A true performance that will live on in Trees history and I’m sure many of us will talk about this show for years to come.
