#2663: Calva Louise – W.T.F

What a way to end a festival. Seriously, it’s been such a blast. After another great night at the Silent Disco, we kicked off our Saturday with some well-deserved shade – I never knew I loved shade and a breeze as much as I did this weekend. Also, I don’t think I had ever drank this much water at a festival before. Ha! I suppose my near-thirties body can’t live on beer alone anymore these days. Who would’ve thought! Anyway… we’ve been perfectly responsible this entire weekend and it didn’t take away from the fun we were having at all. One of my main goals at Trees is to pick myself up some merch by an act I’ve been enjoying and though it took me all the way up until the penultimate act of this weekend, I’m glad I bought myself a t-shirt of Calva Louise. Being one of the few acts that split us up – my mate went to see letlive. instead and had an absolute blast – we met each other soon after, both having had an amazing time. In fact, Calva Louise was so great that they might’ve actually been my favourite act of the weekend. It’s like melting VUKOVI and DON BROCO together into a metal-mix of crazy riffs, grunting, and topping it off with some soothing piano in between. It sure felt like a proper live experience so I can recommend catching a Calva Louise show if you get the chance. I’m sure I’ll try and see them perform again soon.

I’ve said it before, but this edition of 2000trees has been amazing once again. Big thanks to everyone who made it happen, as well as to all the people I’ve spoken to and laughed with. It sure has been a true pleasure visiting this festival again. Since I’d already set up my instalments for the 2026 edition before this year’s even kicked off, I can’t wait to doing it all over again next summer.

In chronological order, all acts I’ve seen live on the Saturday of 2000trees 2025:
– Hidden Mothers
– Humour
– Love is Noise
– Split Chain
– SOAPBOX
– Future Of The Left
– VUKOVI
– La Dispute
– Calva Louise
– Alexisonfire
