Some songs just need some time before they resonate properly. Sometimes you just can’t truly grasp the beauty of a song after one single listen! Or, in this case, you just need a beer on a sunny Friday afternoon to finally voluntarily enjoy it. When Enter Shikari released ‘A Kiss for the Whole World’ back in 2023, not many songs got the pleasure of being enjoyed by yours truly. Except for ‘It Hurts’ and ‘Bloodshot’, I perceived this album as a bit of a disappointment. Even though I caught Shikari playing live one or two times in between, it took up until Friday the 27th of June of the year 2025 for me to play this album by choice. I mean, after its release we bought a copy of the album on vinyl and it certainly got playtime in the Jam of Today household by means of my partner playing it quite a lot, but this specific Friday marked the first ever time I willingly played this album by myself. And, you know, it still isn’t that great but at least I enjoyed it quite a bit. And the album’s opener is actually quite a banger after all.
