DIIV’s 2024 album ‘Frog In Boiling Water’ appeared on my radar just a bit too late to be featured on the Jam of Today December special. After seeing them live in support of Fontaines D.C. in Alexandra Palace last November, I figured to give it a spin and lo and behold, it was pretty solid. DIIV is a great example of one of these bands I can only ever listen to so much during the month. It’s not quite exciting enough to end up in high-rotation as is the case with quite a bit of shoegaze, but I do very much recognise and enjoy the quality of the stuff they make. Today’s a good day, since I feel like listening to some DIIV. ‘Soul-net’ is one of my favourites off of their latest album.
