I was hoping to get myself a ticket for the Deftones show in Amsterdam coming February but much to my surprise, it sold out basically in an instant. I should’ve known, given the band’s current rise in popularity again. Hell, when they played London last June, my entire neighbourhood was filled with young people going to the show! I’d expected a whole load of 45-year-olds heading to the Deftones gig but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Apparently the young’uns have taken over! A proper shame I was too late for a ticket, since Drug Church and Denzel Curry will be supporting Deftones during this tour. Oh, well. Can’t win ’em all. At least the Chino Moreno fronted group will drop a new album later this year called ‘private music’ (22-8). ‘my mind is a mountain’ is the first single ahead of this release and gives us a proper taste of what’s to come.
