Oh snap, I just remembered that I completely forgot to talk about this band this week. So, I went to do another one of my spontaneous gig nights last week, popping down to the New Cross Inn to catch Norwegian ‘deathpop’ band Blood Command play live. Honestly, I’d heard of this band before – I believe they’ve played 2000trees at some point when I was present there as well – but never managed to catch them live or really listen to them at all. Just like what I did before attending recent gigs by Nothingheads and MOFGY, I played a song or two on Spotify and decided whether to buy a ticket or not according to that listening experience. Well, I think you can guess how that played out for me. Blood Command played a solid set (good enough for me to purchase a cool t-shirt once again!) and ended the night with the only song I’d saved by the Norwegians. Arguably, the production quality is quite low on this 2012-tune off of album ‘Funeral Beach’, but I’m always up for some Marmozets-esque tunes.. Definitely my highlight of the set.
