I’m all alone at the office today which means I can play some tunes I really dig rather than listening to the same old office music yet again. Usually, I whip on the Jam of Today playlist when no one’s around (let’s face it: it’s a little too eclectic to play when you’re surrounded by colleagues) but I had a bit of a poor shuffle this morning heading to work, therefore I wanted to put on something else this time. The other day, I found this playlist which is (apparently) “the first nonstop radio platform on Spotify“. Now, I don’t know what sources it used for this statement, but the concept is quite cool: a constantly refreshing playlist, meant to be played in order so it flows into a perfect listening experience. This playlist turns out to be pretty varied and features the occasional deep cut and forgotten song, such as the one that just played: Alex Lahey’s 2017-tune ‘Every Day’s the Weekend’ off of ‘I Love You Like a Brother’, a record which I own a copy of but haven’t played in a billion years. I used to be quite into Alex Lahey’s music and even caught the Australian artist play a show in the Netherlands twice (in 2017 and 2018). Great to hear this song again which, in all honesty, was a lot better than I had memorised. And, of course, it is quite a fitting song to kick off another working week. Happy Monday!
