I currently find myself in a phase of listening to lots of albums instead of playing my playlists on shuffle. Every now and then, I feel the need to mix up my listening habits a bit and truth be told, sometimes it’s just way more fun to listen to an album in its fullest rather than shuffling a stupidly eclectic playlist like this one, especially when you’re looking for a specific mood or vibe. Sometimes, this also helps me dive deeper into albums I either haven’t heard in a while or just didn’t listen to properly enough before. Overall, I find myself falling back to my all-time favourites such as Arcane Roots’ entire discography, which I’ve been spinning loads after their surprise hint of what could be a comeback, or any album by Dance Gavin Dance or Eidola. Speaking of the latter: I found myself another favourite off of ‘The Architect’, their 2021-album which is growing on me rapidly. Definitely one of those albums getting better each time you hear it and I’m not ashamed to say I’ve been spinning it at least 10 times over the last 7 days or so. ‘Empty Gardens’ (of which the band recently uploaded a cool guitar playthrough-video on YouTube!) is perhaps one of the most DGD-like Eidola-songs I’ve heard, therefore it gets an easy A+ rating from me.
