I hate to say it but I’m afraid ‘True Believer’ is only one of very few actually decent songs on Biffy Clyro’s tenth and most recent album ‘Futique’. I mean, I guess it depends on what your expectations are. This album mostly just feels very safe to me, kind of how Twin Atlantic went from this awesome alternative rock band to a pretty non-descriptive pop rock group. Same goes for Biffy Clyro, really. ‘True Believer’ is the only tune on here that actually has a bit of oomph to it. But yeah, it’s all subjective in the end. I guess ‘Futique’ just isn’t for me. It kind of feels like an album with all of Biffy’s most popular and mainstream songs made a teeny tiny bit heavier for the sake of still upholding a bit of a cool rock standard. I don’t know, man. I suppose at least there’s ‘True Believer’ for me to enjoy.
