I was just cleaning out my music closet the other day and stumbled upon this band I saved a long time ago, called Frail Body. The American screamo band featured on one of my metal shelves I was dusting off and whereas ‘Devotion’ was the initial song I’d taken a liking too, a bit of snorkelling into the discography of this group taught me ‘Your Death Makes Me Wish Heaven Was Real’ is the absolute real deal. The overwhelming sense of fast-paced drums, guitar, and untenable screams by singer Lowell Shaffer, covered in a highly emotional sauce sounds like the outcome of a love affair between STAKE, Hammok, and Deafheaven. It’s a genre not quite for the faint of heart but those who appreciate a bit of the emotional screams will surely be interested in hearing more of this group.
