Yesterday, I realised that I haven’t talked about Model/Actriz’ second album ‘Pirouette’ on the blog yet, even though it has been on my Album of the Year longlist for a few months already. Truth be told, I probably haven’t played this album as much as I should’ve so when I finally did spin it again yesterday, it didn’t take long for me to come to the conclusion that ‘Pirouette’ is rightfully one of RateYourMusic‘s highest rated albums of the year so far. The album’s opening tunes ‘Vespers’ and ‘Cinderella’ are probably amongst 2025’s best dance punk releases and the album continues to segue in an ever so attractive artsy mess of industrial EBM-punk. Each song being its own menacing entity, ‘Pirouette’ certainly is an album you should give a chance before the clock strikes 12 on the 31st of December.
