Had a great night last night at the Thornhill show! Sadly, due to some unforeseen delays in public transport, I missed out on opening band Bloom’s set (who released a really solid album today!) but at least there was still Ocean Grove to enjoy ahead of the stellar performance by Thornhill. Really impressed with their show. I’ll probably be sharing some more older songs by Thornhill on the blog soon! Anyway, back to Ocean Grove we go. It’s been the second time I’ve seen them this year, after having the Australian band open up for The Devil Wears Prada in February. I always thought these guys were leaning towards a (pop) punk sound until I saw them live. Turns out they’re a lot more metal than I thought. Kind of straight up 00s nu-metal which isn’t necessarily my kind of music but ‘LAST DANCE’ is a pretty solid tune, albeit not as metal as they turned out to be after all.
