Only a few days until Jam of Today’s End of Year special of 2025! Just like last year, the entire month of December will be dedicated to my 31 favourite albums of this year, starting off with #31 on December 1st up until #1 on December 31st. Honestly, it was quite tough making a selection this year and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to so many great pieces of music during the past 11 months. Sadly, not all albums on my longlist squeezed themselves into my Top 31 of 2025, some because they just weren’t quite up to my taste after all and others because I just hadn’t played ’em enough throughout the year. One of those in the latter category is Baxter Dury’s ‘Allbarone‘, the Paul Epworth produced album of which the stupidly catchy title track made it into the playlist back in May of this year (funny enough also a few days ahead of one of Jam of Today’s specials!). I gave it a first spin this week and it turns out ‘Allbarone’ is actually packed with many more solid songs., such as today’s Jam ‘Mockingjay’ again featuring JGrrey.
