I was just chatting with my partner yesterday about not having found many amazing albums yet this year. Except for Tigercub’s ‘Nets to Catch the Wind’, I haven’t really listened to any albums I would mark as contenders to be amongst my favourite ones of 2026. Luckily, today, I think I managed to add one to that currently non-existent list in the form of ERRA’s latest album ‘silence outlives the earth’. The progressive metalcore band’s seventh album is pretty great and holds some very strong songs which I would probably consider to be my personal favourites of the band – though I’m not super familiar with their full discography. Especially ‘further eden’ and the first single ahead of this release ‘gore of being’ are musically unmatched to most of this year’s metalcore so far. I mean, just listen to those riffs! Absolutely solid.
