It’s been about a year since I attended this little Australian metal evening in Utrecht’s venue De Helling which featured a great line-up in Thornhill, Ocean Grove, and Bloom. Sadly, I missed out on the latter which I was pretty gutted about. I had highlighted Bloom on the blog quite a few times already up to that point and the album they would drop one day after the gig – ‘The Light We Chase‘ – ended up at a respectable 24th spot in my End of Year list. A bummer. It’s not the easiest to catch small to medium sized Australian bands perform live in mainland Europe so I’ll have to be lucky to ever catch a show of them again. If they happen to play another gig with Ocean Grove, they surely must perform ‘Keep You’, a featuring with Movements singer Patrick Miranda. Honestly, I can’t wait for this song to come on shuffle right after my Ocean Grove favourite ‘Last Dance‘. Such a perfect set of songs.
