Another day in the books as we set foot on (somewhat) mainland Japan by taking the ferry back from Yakushima to Kagoshima. The last few days were a blessing and I can’t wait to see what the rest of this journey has in store for us. Also, have you ever been in the epicentre of a volcanic ash precipitation? We got welcomed by an interesting natural phenomenon with Japan’s most active volcano, Sakurajima, being in a state of eruption, spouting ashes all over the shop. This meant that Kagoshima was covered in dust with a very thick cloud of ash hanging over the place making it quite a bit challenging to easily go by through the streets of the southern city. That does not mean, however, that this is a very rare sight. In fact: Sakurajima erupts in quite a minor scale basically every single day so I bet the local citizens are quite used to this interesting yet slightly inconvenient occurrence. Anyway, I had some time to listen to the new EP by Dutch ska punk band Politie Warnsveld today and I quite like it so here’s the most relevant song off of that mini-album relating to my day today.
