Not much to report on today. It’s been quite a chill one driving from one place to another. Had a brief stop at Takachiho Gorge to admire the stunning nature around there before heading to the onsen town of Kurokawa, where the squad bar me has just gone for a lovely hot bath while I’m taking a bit of a breather. Mainly because I’m too lazy to patch up the tattoos I’m covered with. So far, we have been alright with not having to cover up our body art in the baths we’ve visited but as we are currently in an onsen hotspot (pun intended), it’s kind of inevitable and you are pretty much required to patch up your tattoos. The reason for having to patch ’em up is mainly because tattoos are historically associated with the Yakuza, the Japanese mafia, though one can ask themselves the question whether my 6 Pokémon pieces will really look as threatening as, let’s say, a gang sign. Either way, as a sign of respect, you would go about not bothering the locals with your life choices and hiding ’em from your bathing patrons. I suppose this gives me some time to take out a book and calmly enjoy the environment in this forest covered town.
