Today marked the first day of this trip where I didn’t spend a single minute in a vehicle. Instead, we got the blessing of enjoying Onomichi’s annual matsuri (or; festival) celebrating the town and its culture. Witnessing traditional performances, dances, and marches, this was a true taste of what Japanese culture has to offer and it was magnificent to be able to enjoy such a feat today. Honestly, it gave me goosebumps at times. Topping the night off with some delicious food and drinks once again (what else is new!), Onomichi really marked itself on the map as one of my favourite places we’ve visited so far. Lucky for me, we got another full day at this place ahead of us tomorrow.
