As we wrap up our final day in Onomichi we can start looking back at a lovely little break in between the road tripping madness. Staying local again today meant we had time to enjoy some of the beauty this town had to offer in the form of its many shrines and temples, many of ‘em conveniently located on the hills on the edge of Onomichi’s centre. Luckily, the weather gods were in our favour today as we were blessed with sunshine as far as the eye could see. What a difference with the soaking wet day that was yesterday. It truly seems it’s either one extreme or another here in Japan. Either way, tomorrow our journey will continue through Setonaikai and my inner Dutchman can’t wait to participate in our next activity: cycling across the many islands this national park has to offer.
