And that’s that. The holiday is now officially coming to a close as we say goodbye to the immaculate country that is Japan. I truly can’t imagine any other country being as special for me as this one. Several places in the world (or, mostly Europe) hold a very important place in my heart but this country right here, its people, and its way of life really is head and shoulders above most others on that list. I just love it here. To ened off our journey and our long time together, we all spent our final day separated from each other for the largest part. Ha! One went to a particular shop for the final time as the other decided to have a casual stroll through a park. I myself tried to do a light version of what I enjoyed doing most while living in London, too: going on an adventure in a random part of the city. As we were pretty time restricted, I chose to take a metro only a few stops down to Yotsugi to wander around that particular area for a bit. Not much to report on this adventure as there wasn’t really anything out of the ordinary happening but just me walking around in a new neighbourhood while listening to some of my favourite music really is all I need on days like these. Just lovely. I ended this day by doing something very similar, except this time I stayed a little closer to home (‘home’ as in: the airport hotel we’re currently staying at). I left the airport for a 3 minute metro journey down to some random area, after which I strolled to a nearby shrine at the water where I enjoyed my final view of Tokyo while sipping on my favourite cold beverage. It’s always bittersweet to end a holiday but having been here for five weeks has been so much fun and so incredibly comfortable, that I could easily see myself doing this for an even larger chunk of the year. Well, let’s make sure to get home in one piece first. Guaranteed I’ll be back here soon.
