I’m still very much on jet lag terms these days but instead of wallowing in tiredness, I grasped this rare opportunity of naturally waking up at 06:30 by going for an early morning walk today which was great! Except for the fact that my hay fever symptoms were going crazy. Turns out early mornings are pretty bad for those with allergies. Ha! You win some, you lose some. After a refreshing shower, I went out again at about 12 o’clock for a walk that stretched basically all around Utrecht city which was a great opportunity for me to catch up on some new releases. I haven’t really had much time to stay up to date on new music as I was in Japan so there’s a big shelf chock full of recently released singles and albums waiting for me to dust ’em off. A few pleasant surprises were Muse’s latest single ‘Hexagons‘, Marmozets’ first album in 8 years time ‘CO.WAR.DICE.‘, and the ever so catchy new single by Fat Dog called ‘Go Fuck Urself‘. Especially the latter might be featured on Jam of Today as some point in the future. For now, I’ll stick with Split Chain’s newest single ‘Scatterbrain’, their second of this year after the acclaimed banger ‘sylvia (i won’t belong to you)‘.
