#2979: Hawthorne Heights – Pens And Needles

One of my favourite things to do while living in London was to spontaneously attend gigs. Of course, in the British metropolis, you have lots of venues and gigs to choose from so quite regularly, at some point during the afternoon would I check to see what was on that particular night and more often than not would I end up going to a band I hadn’t heard of 3 hours prior to them starting their set. Yesterday, I got a great taste of those kinds of adventures I would so thoroughly enjoy while living in England, except this time I wasn’t attending a random gig at a random venue but instead did I go and see emo legends Hawthorne Heights celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second album ‘If Only You Were Lonely’ at a venue just around the corner from where I live. The spontaneity lies in the fact that I only got my ticket for this gig as I travelled home from work that day. It was nice to get into the swing of things again since my last gig had been a hot minute (Hail The Sun in Nijmegen mid March) and with an exciting summer ahead of us, I shouldn’t be lacking on the shows!
