Working late today! I’m building a bunch of ‘setlists’ for myself that I can play along to during my drum sessions. As we speak, I’m queueing a bunch of songs to see if they would work out well for me in the studio. My goal is to have a handful of hour-long playlists I can rotate during my rehearsals and to help me build those, I’m quite pleased I just found the first proper drumming playlist I ever made on Spotify – one that I haven’t touched since mid-2019! It’s full of songs I haven’t listened to in ages so I’m not sure if all will make it into my new lists but I’m secretly hoping to find a bunch of hidden gems that I can actually incorporate into my routine. One that has been transitioned from the old playlist to the new setlist just now is Billy Talent’s ‘Red Flag’; a recognisable classic that is a lot of fun to play along too!
