#3019: Dreem Weapons – Locus Pocus

What better way to prepare myself for a hot festival than to already engulf myself in the heat. London’s turned into a hot pot again this week with temperatures consistently reaching over 30 degrees but since we had near 40 degrees only two weeks ago, this is still quite pleasant. Although I’m very aware I’m a bit of a sweaty mess as I’m typing this post outside of my former local brewery. Anyway, yesterday I had a classic ‘wow!’ moment as I discovered the new band of Phoxjaw-vocalist Danny Garland who, together with some musicians across the UK (including other Phoxjaw members), created Dreem Weapons, an alternative rock group very much carrying the torch of what progressive and technical alternative rock has to offer these days. I’m not even joking: this band is proper great. They only have released three songs as of yet but they’ve been on repeat with me for a good 24 hours or so now. It’s hard to choose my favourite of the three but since I’m pretty certain they will all end up on the blog at some point anyways, it doesn’t really matter in which order I’ll share ‘em.
