Trying to actively pick up on listening to some more new music these days since I feel like I’ve been slacking a bit so far this year. Got pretty impressed with Dutch band De Staat’s latest tune ‘GLORY’, ahead of their forthcoming self-titled yet fully capitalised album to be released in September. Saw a massive poster with lead singer Torre Florim’s daunting stare promoting the album at 2000trees this year so I might’ve subconsciously been hypnotised into listening to this tune. Much like their previous works, ‘GLORY’ shows that De Staat means business and proves that they are one of The Netherlands’ most captivating musical exports of the moment. Especially if they keep on portraying Florim as some kind of manic tyrant, I feel like they could be taking over many more places across the globe.
