No brainer. Fontaines D.C. announced their fifth album ‘Dopamine Chamber’ today, to be released October 16th. Alongside this announcement, the Grian Chatten fronted group dropped ‘Marianne’, the first single of this brand new full-length. It follows in the footsteps of the ever so successful ‘Romance’, an album notorious for elevating the band’s familiar post-punk sound to a higher level. Upon first listen, ‘Marianne’ builds further on the sense of darkness as experienced in songs such as ‘Romance’, ‘Starburster’, or ‘Desire’, yet it also has the impressive capability to instantly set the scene and drag you to a cold and rainy spot somewhere in the grittiest, windiest corners of Ireland. A song which carries a visual presence that’s equally as strong as its musical one. Impressive.
