With The Number Twelve Looks Like You’s newest album ‘Howls From The Holographic Heart’ on its way (to be released October 16th), I’ve found myself scrolling through the math icons’ older discography quite a bit over the last few weeks. In fact, the band’s ‘latest’ album (which sounds a little weird given that ‘Wild Gods’ was released in 2019 which is a whopping seven years ago already) has been one of my most played albums of recent weeks. ‘Ruin The Smile’ is potentially the band’s strongest off of this relatively well received album which oddly yet successfully balances between extreme genres such as mathcore, avant-garde metal, and jazz fusion.
