This will either be one of those songs I always skip whenever it comes on shuffle or it will turn out to be a surprising favourite of mine. One way or another, it will be part of the Jam of Today legacy forever from today onwards. During my spur of picking up on some underground Dutch music a few weeks ago, I gave this album by a group called De Baron a spin. ‘BAALBEK‘ features a couple of interesting songs and I quite quickly added it to my longlist of favourite albums of 2026 – though truth be told, about every new album I listen to makes it onto that one. Let’s see where it will up during the December Special. I definitely think ‘Lente in Twente’ (meaning Spring in Twente) featuring André Manuel will be doing and will have done extremely well at a lot of small, local festivals all around The Netherlands this year and truth be told, it has popped into my head every now and then as well recently. So, there’s certainly something to it. Also, this will probably be one of the first polka-influenced songs that have made it into the playlist so fair play to De Baron.
