Via a very unconventional way not worth mentioning here, I ended up watching/listening to a podcast episode today featuring Josh Friend – frontman of dubstep act Modestep – as a guest. I had put Modestep in a box waiting to be opened again for years, and I suppose today was the day for me to relive the dubstep phase me and my friends went through back in the day. Modestep used to be on high rotation on my iPod Classic about 13 years ago. Funny enough, I went through a similar sense of rediscovery last weekend. I very briefly mentioned uncovering a forgotten favourite of mine as I shared Sunday’s blog post, although I’ll keep that particular lost dubstep song in my locker until the day arrives I feel confident enough to share a bit more of this genre on the blog. Nice cliffhanger for those that still enjoy a bit of the dated and somewhat disputed electronic music subgenre. For now, take this true 10s dubstep classic that I have now officially dubbed ‘a banger‘ once again.
