There it is. The big bad wolf: Tokyo. Back in the city of total madness, where you will be able to find and encounter basically everything your heart desires. It truly is an absolutely magical and insane place, something we quickly witnessed yet again ourselves as we tossed our luggage out of the van and onto a packed street in Shibuya on a Saturday night. Yeah, arguably, that was quite a stressful and overwhelming situation, as was the rest of the night as we hopped from place to place in what is probably one of the world’s busiest and most notorious night life districts. The contrast couldn’t be any bigger given that we had a surprise stop earlier this day, at an onsen near Fuefuki with easily one of the most impressive sights ever: on top of a hill near aforementioned city, this particular onsen looked out over a valley and right onto Mt. Fuji. Definitely one of the most memorable and exceptional sights of our lives. What a weird day this has been. Also, a sense of melancholy has been looming around all day, probably because having arrived in Tokyo means our trip is slowly coming to an end – even though we still have 10 days left on our journey. As we said goodbye to our trusted rental van, we’re settling in the metropolis for the next 5 days before continuing our journey with a quick stop up north. Let’s see what madness we’ll be spectating here in Tokyo.
