#2962: Softcult – Perfect Blue

My favourite way of spending time in big cities is to live in the spur of the moment and plan as little events as possible. That’s probably how I ended up starting my day (after a well-deserved lie in) at a batting cage (something I had to Google before attending) trying to hit baseballs flying at me at 130km/h. Honesty compels me to say that this was something I enjoyed way more than I initially thought and I might even go back for a second round soon. As the day went on, I did myself some long-awaited purchases at some cool stores in Akihabara and kicked off the night by having dinner at some other place rather than the usual curry establishment I’ve eaten at about six times now during this trip (and to which I will probably go back again tomorrow). I ended the night in a way I love most: having a drink in a calm, scenic setting with my friends. I took some of my mates for a trip to Tokyo Tower which in itself is not the most impressive of landmarks, though the shrine behind it followed by a small stroll to the nearby river is very much worth it for me. As we enjoyed a cold beverage, we finished this day with some great conversations and superb views on night time Tokyo. As this great day comes to a close, I’m already impatiently awaiting the next one to come. Time to wrap it up. Let’s aim for another memorable one tomorrow.
